TEENS

A core focus of my work is supporting teens (ages 14+). Adolescence is a time filled with immense change and growth. Throughout the course of that growth can often exist encounters with various challenges, obstacles, and difficult experiences that the adolescent must navigate past. I specialize in working with teens and their parents because I am passionate about walking alongside them and assisting them in their journey through this meaningful stage of life. Adolescence is all about developing one's identity, and I seek to support young people in stepping into this.

Beyond the greater intention of supporting my clients through this life stage, I offer support in treating such specific experiences as:

  • Anger

  • Anxiety (Generalized, Social, & Separation)

  • Bereavement/Death of a loved one

  • Bullying

  • Depression

  • Gender Identity

  • Fears and Phobias

  • Finding Passion

  • Inner Criticism

  • Parental Divorce/Separation

  • Self-Esteem

  • Self-Harm

  • Sexuality and Sexual Identity

  • Social Withdrawal or Isolation

  • Substance Abuse

  • Suicidal Thoughts or Attempts

In my work with teens, I often collaborate with the parent(s)/guardian(s) throughout the process if appropriate. The frequency and intensity of parental involvement will vary depending on the teen's age and situation, but I seek to be available to parents to explore new ways of best supporting their child. The confidentiality of the child is always maintained even when collaborating with parents. Please contact me if you would like to schedule an initial appointment or set up a free 15-minute phone consultation to discuss your situation.
