Young Adults
What am I doing with my life? What do I want? Why do I feel the way I do? When will the time come that I feel how I want to feel? How do I get there?
These questions and many more like them can really come up as we enter into and move through our young adult years. And they can feel quite overwhelming, especially when we feel we are asking them alone.
I partner with young adults to tackle these questions together.
This time in life is full of transition. And whether we're talking relationships, going to college, careers, location changes, or wanting to change a pattern we notice in ourselves, transitions are complex. They can be exciting, freeing, and invigorating, but they can also be scary, confusing, frustrating, and difficult. The transitions that happen as we grow into the adult self can be different for everyone, but each kind of transition invites the young adult to step into a new phase of their life and self.
I believe at every transition's core exists an opportunity for growth, learning, and, often, healing, and it is from this belief that I work with my young adult clients.
Beyond the greater intention of supporting my clients through this life stage, I offer support in treating such specific experiences as:
Anger
Anxiety (Generalized, Social, & Separation)
Bereavement/Death of a loved one
Body/Weight Struggles
Depression
Inner Criticism
Family Conflict
Relationship Issues (Romantic and non-romantic)
Self-Esteem
Self-Harm
Sexual shame
Sexuality & Gender Identity (LGBTQ+)
Social Withdrawal or Isolation
Suicidal Thoughts or Attempts
Unsatisfying Substance Use
Trauma (sexual, physical, racial, emotional)
